The Irish Revolution
The Irish Revolution was a module taught by Professor Michael Laffan in the School of History and Archives, University College Dublin from the late 1970′s until his retirement in 2010. In association with the UCD College of Arts and Celtic Studies and History Hub.ie all 10 lectures from Professor Laffan’s final semester teaching were recorded and edited for podcasting by Real Smart Media. The promotional campaign for the series was also implemented by Real Smart Media. The series has proved to be tremendously popular with more than 40,000 downloads – for a time The Irish Revolution was the most popular podcast series in Ireland on iTunes.
Event Podcasting
The podcasting of events and conferences is a speciality. Real Smart Media has recorded and edited podcasts from dozens of conferences since 2011. For examples of this podcasting work please check out the podcasts from the 2014 Tudor and Stuart Ireland Conference which took place in NUI Maynooth below.
As well as recording and editing content, Real Smart Media also manages the hosting requirements for all content and makes podcasts available via dedicated channels on Soundcloud and iTunes. This approach ensures maximum impact and compatibility across operating systems and devices. Podcasts which are hosted on Soundcloud can easily be embedded anywhere online. Dedicated iTunes channels can also be set up for podcasted events – click here for the iTunes channel for the 2014 TSI Conference podcasts.
